Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care
- Support mobility and safe moving and handling using approved equipment
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring food and fluid intake
- Observe, document, and report changes in clients’ health or behaviour to supervising nurses
- Record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) under supervision
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and meaningful social engagement
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential care records
- Support household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Follow individual care plans, safeguarding policies, and infection control standards
- Uphold professionalism, respect, dignity, and person-centred care principles at all times
Requirements
- Care Certificate or willingness to complete upon hire
- Previous caregiving or healthcare experience (preferred but not required)
- Training in manual handling and basic life support
- Ability to work under supervision and follow care plans
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable nature
