This role is ideal for individuals with MIG welding experience who are capable of performing a variety of welding tasks in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work day shifts and contribute to the production of high-quality equipment used in agricultural and food infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, machine drawings, and technical specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Set up welding equipment by connecting cables and adjusting amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse settings.
  • Perform MIG welding on metal components according to production standards.
  • Guide welding electrodes or guns along weld lines while maintaining proper arc length and speed.
  • Weld in various positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
  • Inspect finished welds for correct bead size, penetration, and quality.
  • Select appropriate torches, filler rods, and welding materials based on job requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality control standards in the production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months to one year of welding experience or relevant training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment and welding techniques.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
  • Capability to identify and measure materials accurately.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and standardized production procedures.

Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
  • Ability to use weld fillet gauges and measure weld tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Basic mechanical and technical skills.
