Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of streets, utilities, stormwater systems, and other city infrastructure projects.
- Prepare project manuals, engineering plans, and technical documentation for in-house projects.
- Respond to engineering inquiries and concerns from the public, regulators, and city officials.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering solutions to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Support the administration of project budgets and special engineering projects.
- Manage and maintain the City’s stormwater management program, including annual reporting.
- Oversee and participate in construction inspections conducted by contractors.
- Act as project manager for assigned public works and infrastructure projects.
- Administer and monitor city engineering contracts.
- Produce and review engineering drawings and plans using AutoCAD.
- Prepare and review engineering compliance and technical reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Knowledge of public works engineering principles and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering design software.
- Ability to interpret and prepare technical reports, plans, and engineering documents.
- Ability to work under moderate supervision while managing assigned projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, inspections, and project coordination.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and work both in office and outdoor environments.
