JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Bakery Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Enhance the reputation of the business by promoting and encouraging best-practice customer service.
  • Effectively resolve customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Minimize customer complaints and reinforce the store’s returns policy.
  • Ensure sales and gross profit (GP) targets for the department are met or exceeded.
  • Control wage costs appropriately and monitor sales to increase revenue.
  • Maintain 100% price integrity in the department.
  • Implement Foodstuffs North Island’s promotional and pricing programs to remain competitive.
  • Maintain and service all bakery machinery regularly.
  • Manage stock ordering, ensuring optimal levels and stock rotation.
  • Source stock through approved suppliers and check quality upon arrival.
  • Handle credits efficiently to minimize waste and reduce loss.
  • Ensure the shop is fully stocked and visually appealing throughout trading hours.
  • Maintain signage and merchandising to drive sales.
  • Undertake baking tasks as required.

Experience: Proven leadership experience in a bakery or food production environment

Work Setting: Supermarket / Retail bakery
