What do Chefs, Cooks, and Apprentice Chefs do?
At Chu the Phat, we’re looking for the next generation of culinary talent. Inspired by the bold and vibrant street food of Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong, our kitchen is led by Executive Chef Brendon Barker of Brisbane’s acclaimed Madame Wu.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Chef, Cook, or Apprentice Chef, your responsibilities will include:
Preparing high-quality dishes consistently to standard
Maintaining food safety and hygiene in line with HACCP standards
Working effectively in a team and supporting kitchen operations
Demonstrating excellent grooming and organisational skills
Learning and applying new techniques in a modern kitchen
Assisting with service and daily kitchen duties

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
We’re looking for candidates who:
Have a strong passion for cooking and the hospitality industry
Can work in a fast-paced kitchen with a team-first mindset
Have excellent attention to detail and high standards
Understand food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP knowledge)
Are flexible and available across a 7-day roster
Hold valid Australian working rights
Can provide professional referees with up-to-date contact info
In addition, for Qualified Chefs:
Hold trade qualifications in commercial cookery
Have experience across multiple cooking techniques and cuisines
Are capable of leading sections and supporting service operations
Demonstrate strong technical kitchen knowledge
