No prior dairy farming experience required as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in feed production management including feed planning and weed/pest control
  • Apply fertilizers and assist with irrigation requirements
  • Support the milking process ensuring hygiene and milk quality standards are maintained
  • Operate and maintain the farm’s effluent system according to regulatory and company standards
  • Implement and assist with animal health programs, calving, wintering, and calf rearing
  • Maintain accurate herd and farm records, reporting any issues to the Farm Manager
  • Work closely with the Farm Manager on the business plan and maintenance schedules
  • Adhere to all company policies, health and safety requirements, including the use of PPE
  • Assist in following best practice environmental guidelines to support farm sustainability

Requirements

  • Physically fit and willing to learn on the job
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to live onsite in provided employee accommodation (no drive-in option)
  • Willingness to comply with farm rules including no pets policy
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand (citizen, resident, or valid visa)

Skills

  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn new skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
