Key Responsibilities
As a Daycare Teacher, your duties will include:
- Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
- Developing and implementing child-care programs that support early childhood development
- Leading educational and recreational activities such as storytelling, music, arts, and crafts
- Encouraging creativity through dramatic play, physical activity, and artistic expression
- Guiding children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toileting habits
- Observing children for developmental or behavioural concerns and preparing reports
- Communicating children’s progress with parents, guardians, and supervisors
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate behaviour guidelines
- Participating in staff meetings and collaborating with co-workers and community partners
- Planning and maintaining a safe, healthy, and secure childcare environment
- Organizing before- and after-school programs for school-age children, when required

To qualify for the job please ensure you can fulfil the following
Required Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a daycare or early childhood setting
Education
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (1–2 year program)
Certifications
- Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR
- First Aid Certificate
- Food allergy and anaphylaxis training
Area of Specialization
- Infant and toddler care (3 months to 11 months)
- Early childhood education programs
- Child development and behaviour support
