KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Long Haul Truck Driver, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating straight or articulated trucks for long-haul transportation
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Loading, unloading, and securing cargo safely (including tarping)
- Driving as part of a team or convoy when required
- Maintaining accurate records of cargo, hours of service, distance, and fuel usage
- Monitoring vehicle condition and reporting mechanical issues
- Following safety regulations and cross-border documentation procedures
- Communicating with central dispatch and customers effectively
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Education – Secondary (high school) graduation certificate
- Experience – Previous truck driving experience (asset)
- License – Valid AZ Class License with Air Brakes Endorsement
Documentation Knowledge:
- Bill of lading, accident/incident reports, driver logbook
- Trans-border documentation, dangerous goods reports
- Maintenance and repair reports
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations
- Ability to handle heavy loads and physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
