Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Select and prepare appropriate welding equipment, tools, and materials.
- Cut, shape, and assemble aluminium components using hand tools and welding machinery.
- Perform various welding techniques on aluminium materials to produce high-quality components.
- Inspect welds to ensure proper bead width, penetration, and structural integrity.
- Finish and refine welded components using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure it operates safely and efficiently.
- Follow workplace health and safety regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of relevant welding experience in a related field, or
- A qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 (Certificate Level IV) or higher in welding or metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Must have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
