Responsibilities
- Perform welding, cutting, brazing, and burning tasks as directed onboard offshore vessels
- Prepare materials and work areas for welding and fabrication
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair equipment, structures, and components
- Inspect welded joints to ensure quality, strength, and compliance with specifications
- Perform torch cutting, grinding, and metal shaping tasks
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper functionality
- Follow all safety procedures, operational guidelines, and permit-to-work requirements
- Participate in safety meetings, emergency drills, and training programs
- Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately
- Assist with general maintenance and operational tasks when required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Trade school diploma, welding certification, or relevant craft certificate (preferred)
- Knowledge of welding standards such as ISO and NS-EN ISO 9606-1 (preferred)
- Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates
- Strong understanding of offshore safety and operational procedures
- Ability to work in offshore and physically demanding environments
- Military service background is an advantage (preferred but not required)
Skills
- Proficiency in welding, torch cutting, and fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures
- Ability to read technical drawings and work orders
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
