Responsibilities

  • Carrying out welding and fabrication work in accordance with safety, quality, and project specifications
  • Supporting roofing installations, structural frameworks, and related construction activities
  • Ensuring all work meets engineering, safety, and durability standards
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment

Key Tasks

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, project plans, and measurements
  • Selecting and operating appropriate welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and manual arc welding
  • Cutting, shaping, fabricating, and assembling metal components such as brackets, frames, roofing supports, and fittings
  • Setting up and positioning metal components to ensure accurate alignment and fit
  • Preparing metal surfaces using cutting tools and angle grinders
  • Performing welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions in both workshop and on-site settings
  • Inspecting welded joints to ensure strength, accuracy, and quality standards
  • Conducting routine maintenance on welding tools and equipment
  • Following workplace health and safety policies at all times

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of relevant welding work experience, OR
  • A Level 4 or higher qualification in a relevant field, OR
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in any discipline
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Good communication skills and positive work attitude
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks
  • High level of motivation and reliability

Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
