Responsibilities
- Perform all welding functions related to oil & gas production and midstream facilities, including cutting, beveling, welding, preparation, cleanup, and repairs
- Assemble, install, and fabricate stainless steel and carbon steel pipes and pipe fittings
- Operate manual and automated welding equipment using stick, TIG, and low-hydrogen welding procedures
- Weld in flat, vertical, and all positions while maintaining proper arc length and bead quality
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, ISO drawings, and P&IDs to determine pipe layouts
- Measure, fabricate, and modify piping systems to match existing in-line installations
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify tolerances and angles
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and preheating prior to welding
- Remove slag and defects to ensure smooth and compliant welds
- Troubleshoot piping systems and diagnose mechanical issues
- Fabricate new or replacement parts for company equipment
- Ensure proper use of welding gases, tools, and safety equipment
- Follow company and site-specific safety policies at all times
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of oilfield welding experience (5+ years preferred)
- Must pass the prescribed weld test and meet 100% X-ray inspection requirements
- Own a complete rig truck and welding setup, including welding machine, hoses, torches, tips, beveling machine, clamps, and rollout wheels
- Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API 1104 codes
- Ability to perform downhill welding techniques (preferred)
- Ability to TIG weld carbon steel and alloy materials
- Experience working around live process systems and high-pressure environments
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, geometry, and weld shrinkage
- Ability to work safely in an industrial plant environment
