Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and other welding techniques on various materials, including sheet metal, ductwork, and piping
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements
- Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, plasma cutters, and pipe-threading tools
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to ensure accurate welds and fabrications
- Set up and safely operate rigging equipment, including cranes and forklifts
- Fabricate components in compliance with ASME codes and industry standards
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to verify weld quality and structural integrity
- Assist with assembly and installation tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven welding experience in manufacturing or construction environments
- Proficiency in TIG welding (required), as well as MIG and FCAW processes
- Experience with soldering and metal fabrication techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of ASME welding codes and standards
- Experience with rigging operations, including crane and forklift use
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
- Commitment to safe work practices and quality standards
- Ability to commute to Staten Island, NY and work on-site
