ABOUT THE ROLE
PetO is hiring Casual Junior Retail Assistants to support store operations, customer service, stock management, and general retail duties across busy weekend and evening shifts.
Junior Retail Assistant – Casual/Vacation
You will assist customers, replenish stock, maintain store cleanliness, and help keep our cat and dog retail environment organised and welcoming. This role is ideal for animal lovers with a customer-first attitude and the ability to work Thursday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending on store needs, your duties may include:
- Assisting customers with product questions and friendly service
- Operating POS systems and handling transactions
- Restocking shelves and maintaining product displays
- Keeping aisles, counters, and store areas clean and organised
- Helping maintain stock levels and monitoring inventory
- Providing product suggestions and positive customer interactions
- Supporting team members during busy periods
- Ensuring store presentation meets company standards
- Working with excited pets and their owners in a safe manner

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
You’ll work with:
- POS systems and EFTPOS machines
- Retail stock trolleys, ladders, and display equipment
- Pet products including food, toys, accessories, and bedding
Work conditions include:

- Handling boxes and products during restocking
- Fast-paced weekend trading hours

REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for this role, you should have the following:

Experience
- Retail or customer service experience (preferred but not mandatory)
