Electrician Jobs in USA. Lompoc Unified School District is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join its Maintenance and Operations team in Lompoc, California. This full-time position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across district facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in electrical systems, the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment, and a commitment to maintaining safe and efficient school environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical systems including wiring, circuits, switches, motors, and generators.
  • Install electrical wiring, conduit, and panels; assemble and bend conduit and pull wiring as required.
  • Install and repair lighting fixtures, sockets, capacitors, ballasts, bulbs, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and repair power tools, appliances, and maintenance equipment.
  • Install and maintain new circuits, electrical panels, alarms, and fire detection systems.
  • Analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for electrical system installation and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, building regulations, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate work with supervisors, contractors, and other skilled trades personnel.
  • Estimate labor, materials, and equipment needed for electrical projects.
  • Respond to emergency electrical issues and perform repairs during or after working hours when necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of electrical tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Prepare work orders, reports, and documentation related to electrical maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable journey-level experience in the electrical trade.
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass criminal background clearance and TB clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and installation procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Highly desirable: C-10 Electrical Contractor certification.
