ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Cashier at Fortinos, you’ll be the face of our store — greeting customers, processing transactions efficiently, and ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. Your role is essential to providing exceptional service and maintaining the high standards of quality and care that define the Fortinos brand.

This is a part-time, on-site position requiring availability for at least one shift between Monday and Thursday, and open availability Friday through Sunday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Cashier at Fortinos, your main duties include:

  • Greeting customers warmly and providing exceptional service at checkout
  • Scanning, pricing, and bagging products accurately and efficiently
  • Processing cash, debit, and credit transactions with precision
  • Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area
  • Assisting customers with inquiries, returns, and store information
  • Supporting store operations by helping with product restocking and displays when needed
  • Promoting store programs, rewards, or special offers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Adhering to all safety, health, and company standards

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT

You’ll work with:

  • POS (Point-of-Sale) systems and cash registers
  • Barcode scanners, receipt printers, and payment terminals
  • Shopping carts and bagging stations

The role involves standing for extended periods, interacting with customers, and performing light lifting during checkout or restocking tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for this role, you should have:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Previous customer service or retail experience (an asset, but not required)

Skills & Qualities:

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Clear communication and a positive, professional attitude
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy during transactions
