KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Cook with EDO Japan, your main duties include:
- Preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes according to EDO Japan’s standards
- Determining portion sizes and estimating food requirements
- Planning menus and assisting in daily food preparation
- Maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Ensuring kitchen cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety regulations
- Inspecting kitchens and food service areas for compliance with hygiene and safety standards
- Training and supporting kitchen staff in food handling and preparation procedures

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
You’ll work with:
- Commercial kitchen appliances and cooking utensils
- Food preparation equipment (grills, fryers, knives, etc.)
- Cleaning and sanitizing supplies
- Refrigeration and storage units
Work is on-site in a fast-paced, team-based restaurant environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
- 1 to less than 7 months of relevant cooking or kitchen experience
Skills & Qualities:
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills
- Knowledge of portion control and food safety practices
- Teamwork, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and ability to work flexible shifts
Licenses & Certifications (Preferred):
- Food Safety or Handling Certification (an asset)
Security & Safety:
- Must be bondable
