JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Dairy Farm Assistant, your day-to-day duties may include:
- Handling livestock with care and patience—especially during milking and calf rearing
- Monitoring animal health and treating issues such as lameness or mastitis
- Milking duties, shed hygiene, and correct use of milking equipment
- Observing and maintaining grazing plans and feed levels
- Operating farm vehicles such as motorbikes and tractors safely and responsibly
- Performing regular machinery maintenance
- Ensuring effluent and waste systems are handled correctly
- Communicating clearly and respectfully with co-workers and management
- Taking responsibility for completing tasks efficiently and independently

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
We’re looking for candidates who:
- Have at least 1 year of dairy farm experience OR a Level 2 dairy qualification
- Hold NZ residency/citizenship or a valid work visa
- Possess a clean driver’s license
- Can pass a recent police check and drug test
- Show strong stockmanship and a keen eye for detail
- Are reliable, safety-conscious, and respectful to people and animals alike
- Have the right attitude and are ready to work outdoors in all conditions
