ABOUT THE ROLE
Maroa Farm Limited is hiring for two key positions:
1. Dairy Farm Assistant (2 Positions)
You will support daily dairy operations including milking, feeding, animal care, machinery use, and general farm maintenance. This role is ideal for individuals with basic farm experience or agricultural training looking to build a long-term career.
2. Dairy Farm Herd Manager (1 Position)
As the Herd Manager, you will oversee herd operations including milking routines, health management, feeding, calving, staff supervision, and farm planning. This is a senior role requiring proven experience and leadership skills.
Both roles offer full-time hours, stable employment, and the chance to grow within a supportive farm environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
For Dairy Farm Assistants:
- Assist with daily milking routines, including shed preparation and machinery operation
- Feed livestock and monitor herd health, reporting issues promptly
- Clean and maintain animal housing and farm equipment
- Assist with fencing, irrigation checks, and farm maintenance
- Support seasonal tasks including calving and herd movements
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and biosecurity protocols
For Dairy Farm Herd Manager:
- Plan and oversee herd milking, feeding, and daily care routines
- Monitor herd health, nutrition, and performance; implement improvements
- Manage calving, irrigation schedules, spraying, and seasonal operations
- Supervise, train, and support farm assistants and team members
- Maintain detailed records (yields, breeding, herd condition, farm metrics)
- Oversee farm infrastructure: fencing, water systems, maintenance
- Assist with budgeting, inventory, feed planning, and capital management
- Ensure compliance with employment law, biosecurity, and farm safety standards

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
You’ll work with:
- Milking machinery, pumps, shed equipment

Work conditions include:

REQUIREMENTS
For Dairy Farm Assistants:
Experience
- Minimum 6 months of dairy farm experience, OR agricultural qualification Level 1+
Qualities

For Dairy Farm Herd Manager:
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of dairy farming experience, OR agricultural qualification Level 4+
Skills & Qualities
- Leadership and ability to supervise staff
- Strong knowledge of herd health, milking, and feeding practices
- Record-keeping and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions
