This full-time role offers stable employment, fixed rosters, and the opportunity to work in a hands-on workshop environment supporting the daily maintenance and repair of our truck fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general welding work on trucks and fleet vehicles
  • Perform everyday repairs and maintenance of the trucking fleet
  • Inspect, repair, and replace damaged metal components
  • Ensure welding work meets safety and quality standards
  • Move trucks in and out of workshop areas within the yard
  • Safely lift and transport welding materials using a forklift
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
  • Follow company procedures, safety policies, and work schedules

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of welding experience (New Zealand or overseas)
  • NZ Class 4 or Class 5 Full Driver Licence (or overseas equivalent)
  • Valid forklift licence (essential)
  • Ability to work morning or evening fixed shifts as assigned
  • Physically fit and able to lift and handle welding materials
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

Skills

  • Proficiency in general welding and metal fabrication
  • Ability to diagnose and repair truck-related metal issues
  • Safe operation of forklifts and workshop equipment
  • Good time management and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
