Project Overview
This role supports a greenfield mining, processing, material handling, and ship loading project designed to sustain production, minimize environmental impact, and strengthen local community partnerships. You’ll contribute to developing efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible infrastructure that promotes regional growth and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate phases of civil and structural engineering work on assigned projects.
- Prepare original designs, layouts, specifications, and detailed drawings for civil infrastructure such as buildings, structures, roadways, and railways.
- Design and evaluate structural components using advanced knowledge of statics, dynamics, and materials engineering.
- Determine appropriate materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) based on load and stress requirements.
- Conduct constructability reviews, resolve technical challenges, and propose creative engineering solutions.
- Analyze and verify steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Support procurement and subcontracting processes including technical bid evaluations and award recommendations.
- Provide technical assistance to project and construction management to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate across disciplines and support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or international equivalent).
- 8–10 years of relevant professional experience, or 12–14 years of equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in engineering design tools, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), and engineering documentation systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of structural analysis, materials science, and engineering design standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, review, and manage civil/structural engineering deliverables.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
