Responsibilities
- Assist with canopy structure maintenance, including repairing posts, wires, trellises, and orchard infrastructure
- Operate hand tools and light equipment for orchard upkeep
- Perform seasonal tasks such as spraying, mulching, mowing, weed control, and irrigation checks
- Repair sprinkler systems and broken pipe fittings using hand tools
- Repair canopies and posts using hand and power tools
- Clean, maintain, and repair buildings, yards, and fences
- Assist with irrigation to support healthy crop growth
- Operate farm machinery and drive tractors for routine maintenance and cleaning tasks
- Assist with material movement, stock rotation, and maintaining site cleanliness
- Report hazards, infrastructure damage, or operational issues to supervisors
- Comply with all health & safety, biosecurity, and operational guidelines
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months relevant experience or Level 2, Level 3, or higher qualification
- Physically fit and able to perform outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work shift schedules, including weekends
- Valid work visa, NZ residency, or NZ citizenship
- Willingness to follow safety, biosecurity, and workplace procedures
Skills
- Practical farm and orchard maintenance skills
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery
- Basic mechanical and repair skills
