Responsibilities
- Analyze welding jobs from start to finish to ensure proper, safe, and efficient work methods
- Clean and prepare surfaces for welding operations
- Join, fabricate, and repair metal components using appropriate welding techniques
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Inspect completed welds to ensure visual quality and acceptance standards
- Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or material concerns to supervisors
- Maintain tools and work areas in a safe and organized condition
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Welder in an industrial, shipyard, or marine environment preferred
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, and safety guidelines
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques and safety practices
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Willingness to work full-time at the Norfolk, VA shipyard location
