ABOUT THE ROLE

Baby Bunting is hiring a permanent part-time Warehouse Assistant to support stock handling, inventory organisation, and back-of-house operations in our Westgate store.

Warehouse Assistant – Permanent Part-Time Position

You will be responsible for maintaining stock integrity, ensuring timely processing of deliveries, supporting customers with pickups, and keeping our storeroom and sales floor replenished. This role suits someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on daily needs, duties may include:

  • Unpacking, labelling, and organising merchandise
  • Receiving and processing incoming deliveries
  • Operating equipment such as pallet jacks, walkie stackers, trolleys
  • Maintaining accurate stock movement using the Inwards/Outwards Goods Register
  • Supporting customers with pickups and providing friendly service
  • Ensuring storeroom and shop floor standards are maintained
  • Communicating via headset with team members
  • Assisting with general store duties as required

EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT

You’ll work with:

  • Pallet jacks, walkie stackers, WAVe, and trolleys
  • Inventory management software and POS systems
  • Headset communication devices
  • Standard PPE and safety equipment

Work conditions include:

  • Fast-paced retail storeroom environment
  • Indoor stockroom and sales floor work
  • Lifting up to 15 kg alone and 45 kg with assistance
  • Repetitive physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and carrying

REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for this job, you should have the following:

Education & Experience

  • 2–3 years retail storeroom experience preferred (not essential)
  • Previous customer service experience desirable
  • Experience with warehouse machinery (training provided if needed)
  • Ability to use inventory systems and POS software
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative

  • Strong organisational and stock-handling skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and team-focused
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures
  • Physically capable of required lifting tasks
