ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Picker & Packer – Night Shift with Better Choice Fisheries, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that fresh seafood products are accurately packed, stored, and distributed to our valued customers.
This is a permanent casual, on-site position based in North Wollongong, offering consistent night shift work with opportunities to develop your skills in food handling and warehouse operations.
Your roster will vary between 12am and 10am, Monday to Friday, with Saturday shifts as required. Every night brings new challenges as you help maintain product quality, safety, and efficiency across the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Night Shift Team, your duties will include:
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Palletising stock for storage and distribution
- Maintaining the quality and presentation of seafood products
- Cleaning and sanitising storage and work areas
- Following HACCP and cold-chain food safety standards
- Performing general warehouse duties and assisting team members as needed

EQUIPMENT & SPECIALIZATION
You may work with or around the following:
- Cold storage and refrigeration systems

REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the Picker & Packer – Night Shift role, you’ll need:
Education:
- Secondary school completion or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Previous experience in food handling or warehouse operations (essential)
- Seafood industry experience (desirable)
Skills & Qualities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Understanding of HACCP and cold-chain procedures
- Physically fit and capable of repetitive heavy lifting
- Forward-thinking, reliable, and self-motivated
Essential:
- Willing and able to work early morning starts (typically 12am–8am)
- Medically certified as fit for physical work
Desirable:
- Forklift licence
- Prior experience in the seafood or food production industry
