As a Framer-Carpenter with HAWK DEVELOPMENTS LTD., you’ll play a key role in shaping the foundations, walls, and roofs of residential and commercial projects across Calgary.

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position, offering steady work across various locations with competitive pay and opportunities to grow your construction career.

Your schedule will primarily include weekday and weekend shifts, with work commencing as soon as possible. Every project presents a new challenge as you bring architectural designs to life with precision and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Framer-Carpenter, your duties will include:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project requirements
  • Preparing layouts in compliance with building codes using measuring tools
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials (wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel)
  • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Supervising and assisting other workers as required
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area

EQUIPMENT & SPECIALIZATION

You may work with or around:

  • Power and hand tools (saws, drills, nail guns)

WORK CONDITIONS

REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for the Framer-Carpenter role, you’ll need:

Education:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in carpentry or framing (essential)

Skills & Qualities:

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and carpentry practices
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Physically fit for lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and self-motivated
