Key Responsibilities
- Manage structural design on multi-discipline projects from proposal stage through to completion
- Establish and maintain project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Provide structural design for small to large commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential projects
- Design buildings, structures, retaining walls, and pedestrian or vehicular crossings
- Prepare tender documents, construction drawings, technical reports, and presentations
- Assist in preparing large multi-discipline proposals and structural-specific proposals
- Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and administrative staff
- Mentor junior engineers and manage technical support staff as required
- Participate in site visits for data collection, construction review, and coordination meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering from a recognized university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering
- Strong technical skills in structural analysis, design calculations, code compliance, and technical report writing
- Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and progress reporting
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Registration in other Canadian provinces or U.S. states is considered an asset
- Ability to travel to project sites as required, including short- and long-term site residencies
- Valid G-class driver’s licence
