Key Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Select, clean, and prepare metal materials for fabrication and assembly.
  • Cut metal sections using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, or metal-cutting machines.
  • Shape, bend, and form metal components using machinery, heating, or manual tools.
  • Align and assemble components with precision using measuring tools and fixtures.
  • Weld, bolt, or rivet parts to complete assemblies according to technical standards.
  • Inspect and test welds for correct bead width, penetration, and structural accuracy.
  • Finish fabricated items by cleaning, grinding, polishing, or applying surface treatments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in metal fabrication and welding.
  • Trade certification or equivalent qualification (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding and use of fabrication tools.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and safety-conscious.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends when required.
  • Must have no criminal record and be able to pass a drug test.
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand is mandatory.
